Hi, I am Abigail Balkus and I offer Yin yoga classes in Maastricht, Netherlands. ​Each class is aligned within a thoughtfully created program by me, a MsC. health psychologist, mindfulness facilitator, and 200hr. certified yoga teacher.

These classes transcend ¨normal¨ Western yoga courses where there is a focus on looks and exercise.

My courses take into account the essence of yoga philosophy in an organized framework that takes trauma into account.

I, Abigail Balkus, offer Yin yoga classes in Maastricht, Netherlands. These classes transcend ¨normal¨ Western yoga courses where there is a focus on looks and exercise.

My courses take into account the essence of yoga philosophy in an organized framework that takes trauma into account. Yoga is a great opportunity to release trauma that is stuck in the body, as is noticeable with chronic pain conditions. With Yin yoga, we go deep into the muscles, similar to the pressure of deep-tissue massages and the energy work of acupuncture. In fact, Yin yoga is more connected with Chinese traditional medicine than Indian-style yoga,

                                                                                                                  such as ashtanga and hatha yogas.

Whether you are new to yoga or a seasoned pro., these classes are very simple to follow, yet

                                                                                                                                             heavily moving.

You will relax for 60 to 75 minutes, beginning with insightful guided meditations that take   

                     you away from your daily work or family chaos into a space for growth and bliss. 

Aside from normal perceptions, Yin yoga is hard-work, but we create a balance of gentleness

                                                                                 and discipline as we let gravity guide our stretches.​

Each class is aligned within a thoughtfully created program by me, a master's-level health psychologist, mindfulness facilitator, and certified yoga teacher. If you miss a class, no worries, 

 the course schedule is only there to allow for slow transitions into trauma release as we build

                                                                                            trust and slowly relax our bodies and minds.
