Community Care is Booming as Flowers Take Bloom 🌸

Kindness spreads worldwide as community members take action. Community citizens have become nightcrawlers, secretly beautifying and fixing up their beloved neighborhoods in the quiet of the night.

Community neighborhood cleanup has been trending online as neighborhood citizens wake up with their streets´ potholes miraculously filled overnight.
A trend from 2016 of a Chicago artist - Jim Bachor - improving his neglected city streets with durable and beautiful mosaics, has been revamped in 2024 - 2025.

The renewed grassroots community care efforts have not only become an avenue to beautify the neighborhoods (via pretty flowers), but a call-to-action for government officials to push funding to street care and pothole filling specifically.

A 2017 effort by this Canadian man above brought smiles to drivers and cyclists faces as they gratefully avoid face-smashing and tire popping potholes. Yet, the endeavor didn't quite have the effects that Shawn Attrux hoped, as he never heard back from the government agencies that should be the ones filling the potholes. Nevertheless, Mr. Attrux gladly donated his money and time into the supplies and filling of his area's potholes with colorful flowers. 💐
With the current state of social media and the luck-of-the-draw ability to go viral and garner the attention from millions of viewers, the 2024 - 2025 reboot of Mr. Attrux's and Mr. Bachor's pothole filling pursuits have been more successful towards government action.
Harry Smith Haggett (seen above) from Horsham, Sussex, UK has gone absolutely viral on Tik Tok for his pothole filling effort dubbed "Pretty Pothole".
From Mr. Haggett once sneaking out at night to fill the disastrous, gapping street holes (as he suspected that filling them might be considered illegal) to being hired by department stores to beautify and repair their parking lots potholes.
Mr. Haggett's kindness was well worth it - with his business's new-found popularity AND a turn-around action from his local government!
With complete annoyance and frowns at Mr. Haggett's pretty flowers, the Horsham Council has turned around and cemented over his flowers.
How sad!
Yet, it seemed that Mr. Haggett's kindness got the exact right job done!
All of the nasty tire-killing street holes that Mr. Haggert filled up, drawing millions of Tik Tok views, have now been re-filled with cement.
Plus! The Horsham district council has, "...committed an additional £4million to support highway maintenance activities, enabling us to undertake proactive repairs, and have also invested an additional £7million of capital funding, increasing our resurfacing and treatments programme to more than £20million. A further £10million will be committed for 2025/26." (according to itv News)
Creating smiles 😊 Giving kindness ♥ AND getting the underlying problems solved!
Spread the positivity! ☀
