Virginia Beach Hosts Major Offshore Wind Conference: Innovation, Jobs, and Clean Energy in the Spotlight

In Virginia Beach, Virginia you can feel the open-ness and kind nature in the air of this thriving city ranked #8 Best Places to Live in the U.S. in 2024-2025. Virginia Beach has become a leader in originality, creativity, and stepping out of the box, producing bold show-stoppers like record producer Pharrell Williams and Olympic Gold Medalist gymnast Gabby Douglas as evidence of the city's innovative nature.

Virginia Beach's innovation has now blossomed in the renewable energy sector - the trailblazing city will host the largest offshore renewable energy conference in the Americas: IPF (International Partnering Forum).


Virginia Beach was the prime location to host this internationally-renowned offshore wind networking event due to its high ranking as a city with jobs for young professionals (as taken into account for the U.S. News Best Place to Live in the US ranking) which are particularly in the clean energy industry.

The location of Virginia Beach is not only impactful as a coastal city that supports wildlife conservation (as it boasts Virginia's most visited state park - a National Natural Landmark) it is also located in a clean energy proud state - Virginia.


Virginia has been making marks as a sustainable energy state - boasting their Coastal Virginia Offshore Wind Project goal to power 660,000 homes with offshore wind by 2027 and building the first and largest advanced subsea cables manufacturing facility in the city of Chesapeake (a material that is integral in the global supply chain for offshore wind farms and renewable energy projects).


 

The 3-day IPF event set to take place from April 28th - May 1st, 2025 will boost Virginia Beach's chance to reach their offshore wind goals for 2026 and will create more jobs in the state's clean energy sector.

In addition to hosting and organizing this environmentally beneficial offshore wind conference in his city, the mayor of Virginia Beach - Mayor Bobby Dyer - is looking to proclaim the 3 days of the conference as Offshore Wind Week in Virginia Beach for the forthcoming future!
